Youth Outreach Worker

We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Outreach Worker to join our successful Youth Work team.

Working for 20 hours per week, your role would be to support the YCC Youth and Children Strategic Lead in planning and delivering the programme of events we have for 11-18s. Your focus would be on planning and attending the busy and thriving community youth groups we host on Wednesday and Friday evenings. You would also be involved in mentoring young people and depending on your availability, attending school groups we run at lunchtimes in local schools.

We have a dynamic and vibrant community of young people and volunteers, so you would be joining a successful, creative and supportive team with a genuine passion to bring out the best in young people and make a difference in their lives.

Yeovil Community Church is a lively, diverse community with a mix of generations and cultures, teens, adults, children and seniors living out faith, hope and love in our community. Alongside our youth work programme, we also host a thriving community hub where people can access a wide range of resources and support, including: stay and play groups for young families, dynamic children’s and 18-30s programmes, ESOL classes, job club, the Yeovil Welcome Hub, providing care and support for refugees, The Roost, a drop-in service for the homeless and vulnerably housed, and a buzzing coffee shop where people can find a good coffee and a warm welcome. We also offer help to around 200 families in crisis per year through our very successful Yeovil4Family programme.  It’s a great place to help people find hope and encounter Jesus.

If you are highly motivated and passionate about seeing young people reach their full potential, you’re a great team player and you’re available on Wednesday and Friday evenings and have time to plan in the office in the week then we’d love to hear from you.

The closing date for applications is 10th July, and interviews will be held on the 15th July.

To apply please send a cover letter and your CV to claire.hardy@yeovil.cc
