Create Team Assistant

We are looking for the right candidate to work alongside our Creative Strategic Lead as a Create Team Assistant. This role will support the Creative Strategic Lead (CSL) in the day-to-day management of the Create Team. This will include both administrative and pastoral functions. 

Key accountabilities include:

    • To ensure the Create Team Office functions efficiently and effectively.
    • To undertake the day-to-day allocation of Create team members
    • To proactively communicate with hosts & mentors, local agencies, other staff within the GateWay, and the wider church community.
    • To liaise, organize and administrate placements with local schools as directed by the CSL, and to monitor those on placement.
    • To identify pastoral needs that arise within the Create Team and ensure that the appropriate person is aware in partnership with the CSL.
    • To manage work experience
    • To undertake other tasks agreed with the CSL.
    • Provide administrative support to Create and Youth and Kids team in day-to-day activities and group preparation.

This role requires excellent admin skills, and a heart to pastorally care for the Create team members as part of their time here at YCC. This is a part-time post (12 hours per week over 3 days with the possibility to increase).

Create is as a gap year project aimed at training students/interns in youth work, kids work, schools, and mission projects and engaging them in youth work across the town.  Since then it grew and developed and became a program, which not only attracts gap year students but also people who are prepared to commit to 2, 3, and 4 years of volunteering and training to bring hope and restoration to the youth and children of Yeovil.
